Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice. The new musical is billed as “The story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time,” according to the production notes. “They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide — all before they were 30.”

Jersey Boys is a documentary-style musical based on the lives of one of the most successful 1960s rock ‘n roll groups, the Four Seasons. The musical opened on Broadway in 2005, and has had a North American National tour, along with productions in the West End, various US cities, Toronto, and Melbourne. Jersey Boys won four 2006 Tony Awards, Best Musical, Best Actor (John Lloyd Young), Best Featured Actor (Christian Hoff), and Best Lighting Design (Howell Binkley).
